Emily is a self-taught illustrator. Having always loved to sketch, Emily says ‘I held a pencil, and began to draw’.  

Working primarily in acrylic ink, Emily has developed a unique style, creating and experimenting with designs, perspective, and movement. Acrylic Ink allows Emily to create artworks that have a similar appearance to watercolour, but with the satisfaction of working with a more permanent medium.  Emily enjoys the medium for the defined lines and the ability to layer.  

Stumbling into the world of animation and illustration by chance, Emily tries to allow the artworks to flow on their own, rather than looking for references. Working freehand, each study has a different focus, whether it’s perspective, viewpoint, shading, layering or something else entirely.
